Roger Federer was born in Basel, Switzerland in 8th August 1981. His father was a Swiss-German named Robert Federer and his mother was a south african named Lynette Federer. He was brought up in a suburban near Basel
close to the borders of France and Germany. Wanting to become a foot baller, he decided to pursue a career in Tennis. His career started at Gstaad his first ATP tour in 1998 and in the next year he played Davis cup for his national team Switzerland against Italy. His first ATP title was at Milan 2001. This has shown a king has arised
in tennis. He defeated the seven time wimbledon champion Pete Sampras stopping his streak of 31 undefeated matches at wimbledon. He finished the year as 13th rank. This year is the turning point of his career.
